Our latest Breed Information and Snoopy Fun Day was held on Sunday
21st October 2007 and though not as well attended as in the past,
it was a fun day and most people who came along seemed to have a
good time and also learned a little bit more about their beagles.
At a rough count by the end of the morning, there were over around
60 people and accompanying beagles in attendance. It was a great
sight seeing so many beagles of all shapes, colours and sizes -
all obviously enjoying the day and being able to sniff each other
and make new friends.
Beagles "meeting and greeting"!

Some of the crowd listening to the talks

Following a welcome from the President, Gwenda Golding, there were
talks on General Care (Leanne Coffey assisted by Phoebe), the
Club’s fun activities (John New), health issues (Bev James) and
then a few hints on training your beagle (Pam Murphy).
The Speakers (from left): Gwenda, Leanne and Phoebe, John, Bev, Pam and Sue

We were then treated to a wonderful exhibition by a team from the
AQIS Beagle Brigade. A huge thank you to Olivia, with Whiskey and
Selby for coming along and showing us what a wonderful job these
beagles are doing at the airport by helping to stop the illegal
import of plants and food that could have a disastrous effect in
Australia

The games were ably
organised by Sue Bownds and were very hotly contested!
Congratulations to all the winners and place-getters, even though
some of you may not have won a prize you still got to go home with
the best beagle/s!
There was also a chance
to have the height of your beagle measured by Don James and then
we finished off the morning with the drawing of the raffle.
Several very happy people went home with prizes that had very
kindly been donated. Special thanks to Julia Tissington who has
become very adept at “twisting arms” and arranged a great donation
from Petbarn.
A huge thank you to all
the Committee that were there on the day. Everyone worked together
very well and certainly helped make the day the success it was.

Thank you also to Ross
Reid, our roving reporter for the morning – a job that he has made
his own!
