Our latest Breed Information and Snoopy Fun Day was held on Sunday 9th November 2008 and it went very well. It was a fun day and most people who came along seemed to have a good time and also learned a little bit more about their beagles.

Lots of sniffing went on as the beagles all got to know each other

At a rough count by the end of the morning, there was around 60 people and accompanying beagles in attendance. It was a great sight seeing so many beagles of all shapes, colours and sizes - all obviously enjoying the day and being able to sniff each other and make new friends. It was also wonderful to see some of the beagles that had found new homes through the Club’s Rescue and Rehoming webpage, maybe next time more of them will be able to come along.

Following a welcome from the President, Gwenda Golding, there were talks on general care (Sue Bownds), the Club’s fun activities (John New), feeding and health issues (Bev James) and then a few hints on training your beagle (Pam Murphy).

The games were organised by Sue Bownds helped by Dave Baldry and were very hotly contested! Congratulations to all the winners and place-getters, even though some of you may not have won a prize you still got to go home with the best beagle/s!

There was also a chance to have the height of your beagle measured by Don James . Then we finished off the morning with the drawing of the raffle and several very happy people went home with prizes that had very kindly been donated. A big thank you to Teresa Hewitt who volunteered to sell our raffle tickets, it was very much appreciated. Thank you also to Ross Reid, our rovng photographer for the morning – a job that he has made his own.

A huge thank you to all the Committee and members that helped on the day. Everyone worked together very well and certainly helped make the day the success it was.

Thank you also to Ross Reid, our roving reporter for the morning – a job that he has made his own!
